ENG / "Nephelococcygia: we are in this together, but we are not all human, one and the same". 12 multipurpose pareos to wear, to take to a demonstration or to install in an art space. 12 digital prints on fabric, 100 x160 cm each. 2023. The long title of the work combines a slightly modified quote of Rosi Braidotti "'We' May Be in This Together, but We Are Not All Human and We Are Not One and the Same" * with the word nephelococcygia (Wolkenkuckucksheim). The term nephelococcygia in English indicates both the utopian city never finished in the comedy "The Birds" by Aristophanes, and the act of searching and finding shapes in the clouds. The installation tries to problematize and make visible our fallacious anthropocentric view, placing it in an everyday context. The pieces of the artwork can be used for different purposes such as dressing, demonstrating or intellectual stimulation. That's pointing out the fact that resources are precious and limited, and that in the future we might not be able to afford anymore specialized items that are fulfilling only one task. The sentences written on the pictures are strongly influenced by anti-speciesist and anti-essentialist positions, inspired by the texts of authors such as Rosy Braidotti, Donna Haraway and Silvia Federici. The landscape pictures are a view of the city of Berlin from above where power plants are visible, different dramatic cloudy skies at the sea, and a burning forest. Der Titel der Arbeit kombiniert ein leicht abgewandeltes Zitat von Rosi Braidotti "‚We' may be in this together, but we are not all human and we are not one and the same" mit dem Wort nephelococcygia (Wolkenkuckucksheim). Im Englischen bezeichnet das Wort sowohl die utopische Stadt, die in der Komödie "Die Vögel" von Aristophanes nie fertiggestellt wurde, als auch den Akt des Suchens und Findens von Formen in den Wolken. Die Installation versucht, unsere trügerische anthropozentrische Sichtweise zu problematisieren – und sie in einen alltäglichen Kontext zu stellen. Die Kunstwerke können für verschiedene Zwecke verwendet werden: zum Anziehen, Demonstrieren oder zur intellektuellen Stimulation. Dies weist darauf hin, dass Ressourcen kostbar und begrenzt sind und wir uns in Zukunft vermutlich keine Produkte mehr leisten können, die nur eine spezifische Aufgabe erfüllen. Die Sätze auf den Tüchern sind stark von antispeziesistischen und antiessentialistischen Positionen, wie denen von Braidotti, Haraway und Federici, beeinflusst. Die Landschaftsbilder zeigen dramatische Wolkenhimmel am Meer, einen brennenden Wald und einen Blick aus der Vogelsperspektive auf Kraftwerke in Berlin. Il lungo titolo dell'opera unisce una citazione leggermente modificata di Rosi Braidotti "'We' May Be in This Together, but We Are Not All Human and We Are Not One and the Same"* con la parola nephelococcygia (nubicuculia). Il termine nephelococcygia in inglese indica sia la città utopica mai finita nella commedia "Gli uccelli" di Aristofane, sia l'atto di cercare e trovare forme tra le nuvole. L'installazione cerca di problematizzare e rendere visibile la nostra fallace visione antropocentrica, collocandola in un contesto quotidiano. I pezzi dell'opera d'arte possono essere utilizzati per scopi diversi come vestirsi, manifestare o stimolare l'intelletto. Anche per sottolineare il fatto che le risorse sono preziose e limitate e che in futuro potremmo non essere più in grado di permetterci articoli specializzati che svolgono un solo compito. Le frasi scritte sulle immagini sono fortemente influenzate da posizioni antispeciste e antiessenzialiste, ispirate ai testi di autorǝ come Rosy Braidotti, Donna Haraway e Silvia Federici.
